SMS Communication Policy
The short version: we only text people who asked us to, it is never more than a handful of messages a month, replying STOP ends it immediately, and your number is never sold to anyone.
Text messages from HandyRanking.com are sent by HandyRanking.
What we would text you about
Three things, and nothing else. Updates on something you started — a listing claim moving through review, a certification exam result. Details of a quote request you submitted, or the handyman responding to it. Occasionally, and only if you agreed to it separately, news about HandyRanking itself.
How you end up on the list
By giving us your number and ticking the box that says so, on a claim form, a quote request, a job-matching signup, or over the phone with your spoken agreement noted on the record.
Agreeing to texts is never a condition of using HandyRanking, and it is never a condition of buying anything from us. Marketing consent is asked for separately from service messages, so saying yes to one does not sign you up to the other.
How often, and what it costs
Service messages arrive when there is something to tell you, so the number depends entirely on what you have going on. Marketing messages are capped at four a month.
We charge nothing. Your carrier may, depending on your plan — standard message and data rates apply and those charges are between you and them. Delivery works across the major US carriers but no carrier guarantees any individual message arrives.
Stopping them
Reply STOP to any message. That is processed automatically, you will get one final confirmation, and nothing further is sent to that number. UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT all work the same way. If you change your mind, reply START.

Getting help
Reply HELP to any message for contact details, or reach us at support@handyranking.com or {SITE['phone']}.
Your number
Phone numbers and the content of text conversations are never sold. They go to our messaging provider purely to deliver the message, and to HandyRanking staff dealing with your request. Nowhere else.
Compliance
Our messaging follows the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, CTIA guidelines, and the A2P 10DLC framework, and our sending is registered with the US carriers under HandyRanking.
